Yes. We are a small law firm and to ensure that the celebrant will be available we ask that you schedule an appointment. If you finish early at the court or if you are running late, just give us a call and let us know. We will try to accommodate you if you need to come in sooner or later.
All you need is the paperwork from a Virginia Court Clerk, your government-issued photo ID, the applicable fee, and of course the person you are going to marry! Visit the website of any Virginia Circuit Court for information on obtaining the paperwork you need to bring us for your appointment in our office.
We love meeting new people and sending them on their journey through life together. We are non-judgmental, and only wish the best of luck for everyone we meet.
No, it's not necessary to bring any witnesses with you. If you want to bring guests, our office can accommodate 10-12 guests. There is a $50 room rental fee for groups in excess of 5 people on the second floor of the building. There is no elevator in the building.
Yes! If desired, we can use your cell phone to take still photos or a video while you are here. (See fee chart.) You can also have a friend or professional take photos for you.
No, the marriage celebrant is responsible for returning the license to the court. We will mail it or if you need to have expedited delivery of the license there is an additional fee. See fee sheet for more information.
You will receive a ceremonial certificate from the marriage celebrant to commemorate your special day. To receive a certified true copy of your license, you must contact the same office at the courthouse where you submitted your license application. Unless you choose expedited service (see fee schedule), it usually takes 7-10 days for the license to arrive at the courthouse by first class mail.
Marriage license copies can be obtained in-person or through the mail. To obtain a copy by mail, the customer must either complete the Marriage License Copy Request form or prepare a written request providing the date of the marriage and the full name of both parties. Mail the request to:
